ABCD audits at EASD in Madrid
The ABCD audit programme was prominent at the recent EASD in Madrid with three presentations.
In a short oral presentation, Dr Emma Wilmot presented data showing that in the ABCD NHS England pilot audit of hybrid closed loop therapy (HCL) which was launched in 2021, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, age or socioeconomic status HCL is associated with similar reduction in HbA1c at 6-months.
ABCD and Sanofi DKA Collaborative Working Project
Diabetes-related ketoacidosis (DKA) is a serious complication that requires standardised, high-quality care. Despite updates to the Joint British Diabetes Societies-Inpatient (JBDS-IP) guidelines in 2010, 2013, 2021, and 2023, research has shown significant variation in DKA care between patients. Traditional audits have fallen short in addressing this variation, which demands immediate attention.

We are delighted to announce that registration for the Diabetes Update programme is now open!
Our much awaited initiative for trainees in diabetes and endocrinology will be held from the 29th - 31st January in Loughborough.
Our Diabetes Update aims to cover the diabetes section of the training curriculum for diabetes and endocrinology issued by the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board. It is also be a great opportunity for more established clinicians to find out the latest updates in the area of diabetes.
