ABCD are delighted to announce that the Diabetes Dragons' Den is running for a second year.

After a successful first year in 2023, entries are now open for this year's competition that aims to support innovative projects in the area of diabetes care.

In our second ABCD Inspire Podcast, our host, Dr Petra Hanson, is joined by Professor Parth Narendran, who leads the Diabetes Research Unit and the Type 1 Diabetes clinical service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

Parth shares with us his updates on autoimmunity in diabetes, his current research projects, and when asked by Petra why he chose to get into research, Parth says "research for me has been a really exciting part of my life and has given me opportunities I wouldn't have had in other ways" - a conversation not be missed!

Emma shares how her own personal circumstances and experiences inspired her journey into the field of diabetes, how that journey has progressed throughout her career and parenthood, the challenges that she has had to overcome trying to create a balanced lifestyle, and what exciting research projects she is currently focussed on.
