CaReMe group leaflet for people with diabetes

Cardiology, Renal and Metabolic (CaReMe) group have produced a very helpful leaflet for people with diabetes on SGLT-2 inhibitors.

SGLT-2 inhibitors are being increasingly used in people with type 2 diabetes to improve diabetes control with the added benefits of weight loss, reduction in BP, reduction in admission from heart failure, reduction in cardiovascular and overall mortality and reduction in renal deterioration.

Free insulin safety training e-leaning module launched

NHS trusts and Primary Care Networks are being urged to roll out a new online insulin safety course which has been launched with the aim of reducing insulin error by providing free education to healthcare professionals.

According to the results from the latest National Diabetes Inpatient Audit1, two in five people with diabetes on insulin (40 per cent) experience an error related to the administration of the drug while in hospital, with errors also reported in the community setting.

Late abstracts being accepted for ABCD Conference 2020

Many thanks to all those who have submitted abstracts for this meeting. These are now being marked and we will be in touch in due course with the outcome.

Whilst the deadline for submissions has now passed, we will accept late abstracts until 13th October 2020. These will only be displayed on the conference platform if there is space and if we receive the final pdf files in time to upload them. If your abstract is deemed of sufficient quality, and there is no space at the conference, we will publish it on the ABCD / BJD websites.
