As healthcare professionals, we strive to provide the best possible care for people with type 1 diabetes. One of the most challenging aspects of managing this condition is achieving and maintaining blood glucose levels within a safe and healthy range. The development of hybrid closed-loop systems, which combine continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pump therapy with advanced algorithms to automate insulin delivery, represents a significant advance in diabetes care.

Data from the ABCD worldwide EndoBarrier registry published in the current issue of Diabetes Care

1022 patients, 34 centres, 10 countries, shows improvements in weight, glycaemic control and CVD risk factors. EndoBarrier is a potential future treatment option.

The Diabetes Technology Network UK (DTN-UK) are looking for three people with diabetes, who have personal experience of using wearable diabetes technologies (CGM/pump/closed-loop systems) to join the committee of DTN-UK, part of the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD).

DTN-UK is an organisation which exists to support UK health care professionals involved in using technology designed to improve the lives of people living with diabetes.
