ABCD are pleased to have supported the Managing Diabetes campaign that launched on Friday 17th June 2022 within the The Guardian and online.

Managing Diabetes aims to raise awareness of the latest conversations and medical technology in the type one and type two diabetes industry and featured insightful content from ABCD, Diabetes UK, JDRF, IDF, Abbott, Insulet / Omnipod, Bayer, Arecor, MySugarWatch, Healum, Anglia Ruskin University, exante.

ABCD currently runs the successful National Diabetes Consultant Mentorship and Consultant Development Programmes. We are now seeking a Professional Development Lead for these programmes to support Keith Whitfield, current Faculty Lead.

This virtual meet up was held on 13th June 2022, 25 years after the inception of ABCD.

Current and past executive members, as well as ABCD leaders, raise a glass to the ABCD founders and all past chairs, executive members and committee members who have led the association throughout the last 25 years, as well as our loyal membership.

Join us on Monday, 13th June at 5:00pm to raise a glass in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists.

Applications are now open for the Named Lectures at the Diabetes UK Professional Conference 2023! The Named Lectures are a central part of our annual conference and are prestigious awards recognising the very best in diabetes care, treatment and research.  Our next conference in 2023 will be face-to-face, so awardees can look forward to delivering their lectures live and in-person. 

The UK regulator has taken safety action to reduce risks associated with Roche Accu-Chek Insight Insulin Pumps by issuing a national safety alert and outlining recommendations for patients.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued a national patient safety alert for the NovoRapid PumpCart prefilled insulin cartridge and the Roche Accu-Chek Insight Insulin pump system following concerns raised about cracked cartridges and insulin leaks.
