The National Conference Centre is centrally situated at J6 on the M42 with excellent transport links to Birmingham International Airport and train station which is just a 5 minute drive away. Central Birmingham is 25 minutes drive, and the venue is equally accessible for the North and South with both Manchester and London a 2 hour drive.

By car 
The NCC is located on J6 of the M42, follow signs to The National Motorcycle Museum from all approach roads.

In the event of cancellation, delegate fees are only refundable until 13th September 2023. After this date no refunds will be issued. All refunds are subject to a £10 administration fee.

ABCD hospitality & registration desk

The ABCD registration and hospitality desk will be open in the Imperial Suites foyer from 08.00 on 11th October. Upon registration, you will receive your conference pack and badge. We request that you please wear your badge throughout the meeting. The conference organising team will be based at this desk throughout the conference should you have any queries.

Accommodation

You will need to arrange your own accommodation should you require it.  There are a number of hotels in the local area and on the nearby NEC site.

Accreditation

Accreditation for this meeting has been sought from the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 5 category 1 (external) CPD credits for full attendance. Certificates of attendance will be available for download after the event.

Catering

Your delegate fee includes tea and coffee at designated breaks and a buffet lunch. We will endeavour to cater for any dietary requirements that have been specified to us beforehand.

Meeting rooms

The meeting will be held in the Imperial Suite which is located on the basement level of the NCC. There are stairs and lifts available.

Safety & security

Please do not leave bags or equipment unattended and please wear your badge at all times. ABCD cannot be held responsible for personal belongings or effects.

Whilst it is not compulsory to wear a mask during the event, you may wish to do so while moving about the building in particular. There will be hand sanitiser stations available for your use on site as well as hand washing facilities. We do politely request that you do not attend if you are displaying any covid symptoms or have had a recent positive test result.

Free WiFi is available at the venue.

We are delighted to invite the submission of abstracts of no more than 250 words for this meeting. Abstracts should be related to the care of people with diabetes and kidney disease and are welcomed from all members of the multidisciplinary team, including students. Authors of the top three highest scoring abstracts will be invited to present their work at the conference. Those meeting the criteria for publication will be published on the ABCD website.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to Friday 18th August at 11.59pm.
