Prof. Bhandari graduated from the University of Edinburgh, trained in Renal and Transplant Medicine in Yorkshire (UK) and Sydney Australia.
He is a full time Consultant in Nephrology and Honorary Professor at Hull York Medical School (HYMS) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and a Vice President for Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh (RCPE), deputy Head of School of Postgraduate Medicine, Health Education England Yorkshire and Humber and Co-chair of the UK Kidney Research Consortium and Co-director of the UK Advanced Nephrology course for trainees.
His research examins important questions to improve patient outcomes and delay kidney progression (NEJM 2022) and optimize the management of anaemia of chronic kidney disease – he is a co-author of the UK guidelines for use of SGLT2 inhibitors in kidney patients and anaemia management.
