Emma Wilmot is a Consultant Diabetologist with a specialist interest in Type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology and young adults with diabetes.
As founder of the ABCD Diabetes Technology Network UK, she led the development of a suite of national diabetes technology ‘best practice’ guides and educational resources. Emma is an Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD) committee member, a DAFNE structured education executive board member and an expert advisor for the National Diabetes Audit programme.
Emma was awarded the University of Leicester medal for excellent PhD performance in 2013 for her PhD “Type 2 diabetes in younger adults” and was appointed as an Honorary (consultant) Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham in 2021. Emma is author or co-author on over 100 publications, has been principal investigator on a range of diabetes studies and is regularly invited to deliver national and international lectures.
