The latest version of the Royal College of Physician’s (RCP) Medical Care which has been published and is live. Medical Care is a web based planning resource produced by RCP in partnership with UK’s medical specialty societies. The updated version includes further information on workforce and medical specialty specific job planning and additional content on diabetes and endocrinology services.

A condensed and abbreviated version of the original JBDS DKA management and monitoring chart has been piloted and successfully used in Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust. I handed over the reins to Dinesh Nagi at a very enjoyable and successful ABCD meeting at the Titanic Centre in Belfast.  Thank you to Russell Drummond and John Lindsay for the excellent programme.  Patrick Bell's welcome address was both amusing and thought-provoking on a theme of reconciliation.  He confessed to never having joined ABCD, but declared he would do so if he were starting his career today!

ABCD is pleased to announce the launch of the ABCD nationwide IDegLira (Xultophy) audit and would like to invite you to take part.

The clinical trials of IDegLira seem to show in those uncontrolled on basal insulin (20-50units), IDegLira showed statistically improved HbA1c reductions in comparison to the up titration of insulin glargine U100 with fewer hypoglycamic episodes and less weight gain, and indeed with weight loss.
