To mark World Diabetes Day, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) published new estimates on the global prevalence of diabetes, indicating that 1 in 11 adults are currently living with diabetes, 10 million more than in 2015.The new estimate is included in the eighth edition of the IDF Diabetes Atlas, other data included: diabetes prevalence is set to rise to almost 700 million by 2045; one in two adults with diabetes remain undiagnosed; and 12 percent of global health expenditure is spent on diabetes.
