Two patient groups representing people with diabetes, Diabetes UK and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) have issued a joint statement calling on the Government to present ‘concrete detail’ on its plans to guarantee supply of insulin in the event of a no-deal - warning of the impact of interruption on patient safety. Since the initial statement, the DHSC and NHSE have spoken to DUK and JDRF to say that they will be given the opportunity to view detailed plans in relation to continued supply of insulin and other diabetes-related medical supplies. In light of the statement, Sanofi UK’s Country Chair, Hugo Fry appeared on Sky News – highlighting our contingency plans, which include increasing stockpiles from 10 to 16 weeks, as well as alternate routes of supply.
