Russell is Lead consultant in diabetes and endocrinology within the North Glasgow Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Clinical Pharmacology.
His interests and current work include pituitary disease, thyroid disease, monogenic diabetes, type 1 diabetes and insulin pump therapy. He is chair of the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Type 1 Diabetes group and an Associate Professor and year director at the University of Glasgow medical school.
