Samantha Mann has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist at St Thomas’ Hospital for 15 years. Her special interest is Diabetic Retinopathy & Eye Screening and she has been the Clinical Lead for the Eye Screening Programme in SE London for over 13 years. The Programme is responsible for over 120,000 patients living with diabetes with high levels of ethnic diversity, deprivation and regularly sees advanced levels of pathology.
Samantha helped to compile the London OCT scanning protocol used within eye screening, developed videos such as Danny’s story to increase awareness of eye screening in those with Type 1 and Katrina’s Story highlighting what ‘laser treatment’ is all about. More recently, she has helped to develop and share HCL Eye Screening pathways within South East London and further afield with her affiliation as the President of the British Association of Retinal Screeners (BARS).
