Helen has almost twenty years of experience of working in health and social care, always focused on improvement.
She is the Assistant Director of Policy, Campaigns and Improvement for Diabetes UK, leading two teams focused on supporting healthcare professions in their goal to improve diabetes care.
She joined Diabetes UK from the British Heart Foundation, where she led the health system insights team,
influencing cardiovascular care improvements nationally and regionally, having originally set up the south east regional influencing team.
Helen started her work in health and care at the Department of Health, leading the team that wrote the National Stroke Strategy, as well as working in the delivering a piece of legislation for the protection of vulnerable adults and various social care projects. She moved across to the NHS to support implementation of the stroke strategy nationally and then in south London, and later using that experience to develop new clinical networks for mental health, dementia and neurology in London.
