Charlotte has been a consultant in Chemical Pathology / Metabolic Medicine at University Hospitals Birmingham since 2012 specialising in adult inherited metabolic disorders (IMD) and lipid disorders.
The Adult IMD service in Birmingham cares for about 1500 patients across the Midlands and South West England and runs more than 30 clinical trials including ‘first in man’ gene therapy trials and novel mRNA therapies. In addition she has recently collaborated with Cardiology colleagues to establish a Preventive Cardiology service alongside the Lipid Clinic. She is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Birmingham and a senior examiner for the Royal College of Pathologists.
