Professor Daniel Cuthbertson

Professor Daniel Cuthbertson has a major interest in obesity and obesity-related complications particularly around metabolic-dysfunction associated Steatotic liver disease. He has published numerous articles and reviews on the topic particularly relating to lifestyle and drug interventions, associated co-morbidities and complications. He is a strong advocate of this being considered a complication of type 2 diabetes despite an almost universal lack of screening by the clinical community. He has published over 165 original peer-reviewed articles with >10,000 citations. He currently has funding from EFSD and Diabetes UK to research interventions and mechanisms underlying the differential susceptibility amongst people from different ethnic groups.
