JBDS-IP Inpatient Diabetes Conference 2025

We are interested in submissions in innovations and interventions in inpatient diabetes as well as interventions that did not go to plan in order to learn from. (250 words). Examples include but not exclusive to:

1. Real-world impact of accreditation and quality improvement initiatives  e.g. Diabetes Care Accreditation Programme (DCAP)
2. Innovative models of interprofessional collaboration
3. Enhanced inpatient self-management and patient education
4. Data integration and interoperability for inpatient diabetes management: Electronic health records, electronic prescribing
5. Applications of analytics, machine learning and AI to inpatient diabetes data
6. Diabetes technology in the inpatient setting
7. Addressing health inequities and wider determinants of health in inpatient settings
8. Seamless transitions of care: Bridging inpatient to outpatient care
9. Case studies including but not exclusive to: technology in inpatient care, enteral and parenteral feeding, perioperative care, bariatric/metabolic surgery, steroids, diabetes in the peripartum stage, self-care, VRIII, diabetes emergencies (DKA/HHS) (including mixed DKA/HHS), recurrent presentations (DKA, HHS, hypoglycemia), role of wider determinants of health, inpatient mental health, frailty, palliative care, systemic anticancer therapies, renal, liver, etc.

Abstracts selected for oral presentation during the event will be offered complimentary registration and standard class travel to and from the meeting.

Hospitality & registration desk

The registration and hospitality desk will be located outside AXIS on the top floor from 09.30 - 17.00 hours on 13th June 2025.

Upon registration, you will receive your conference badge. We request that you please wear your badge throughout the meeting. The conference organising team will be based at this desk throughout the conference should you have any queries.

Accommodation

You will need to make your own accommodation booking should you require it. There is a large variety of accommodation in Liverpool offering a range of prices and styles.  

Accreditation

Accreditation for this meeting will be sought by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.  Certificates of attendance will be available to download from your dashboard after the event. 

Cancellation & refunds

In the event of cancellation, delegate fees are only refundable until 30th May 2025. After this date no refunds will be issued. All refunds are subject to a £10 administration fee.

Catering

Your delegate fee includes tea and coffee at designated breaks and a buffet lunch. We will endeavor to cater for any dietary requirements that have been specified to us beforehand.

1. Delegate places at the conference are limited and offered on a first-come, first served basis. Places cannot be guaranteed until payment has been received.
2. Cancellation charges may apply (100% cancellation fee if cancelled within four weeks of the event)
3. Refunds may be available up to 28 days prior to the event taking place - please check the details for each event.  All refunds are subject to a £10.00 administration fee
4. ABCD / ABCD Diabetes Technology Network reserves the right to alter the programme without prior notice
5. In the event that a conference is cancelled or cannot take place for any reason outside the control of ABCD, the registration fees will be refunded in full. The total liability of  ABCD shall be limited to that refund only and it shall not be liable for any other loss, cost or expense, howsoever arising.
6. Delegates are advised to take out appropriate travel insurance cover.
7. All delegates attending events must comply with relevant current government guidance at the time of the event. Delegates are asked to take all possible precautions against spreading infection through the wearing of masks and frequent hand washing. Delegates are asked to advise the event team if they test positive for COVID-19.
