Vishakha is a Consultant NHS Physician working in Diabetes and General Medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals (Addenbrookes) since 2014. She leads the Diabetes inpatient service and is part of the Type 1 and the Diabetes in Pregnancy services. Her medical degree is from India and she went on to do a Masters in Health Informatics from the University of Minnesota, US. She then moved to complete postgraduate medical training in the UK. Her main clinical interest is in managing inpatient glycaemia on enteral/parenteral nutrition and the inpatient use of technology including closed loop systems in non-Type1 diabetes, Type 1 diabetes particularly to manage feeds and in elective surgery. She is a physician builder for the Epic electronic medical record system and is building tools to harness the potential of structured data. She also fulfils a managerial role as Clinical Director for Cardiometabolic specialities at CUH.
