Dr. Aaisha Saqib

Dr Aaisha Saqib is a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), London. She has been a committee member of the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD) since June 2024 and previously served as the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Chief Registrar (2019–2020). She has also held a national committee role with the Young Diabetologists and Endocrinologists’ Forum (YDEF).
Dr Saqib co-developed the ABCD Diabetes Update course and has a broad portfolio in quality improvement in healthcare. She is currently the Acute and General Medicine Directorate Lead for Quality Improvement at GSTT. She has led trust-wide initiatives to improve staff wellbeing, patient care, and safety, with work published in peer-reviewed journals.
In recognition of her leadership, she was awarded the RCP Lily Leadership Award in 2021.
Her clinical interests include young adults with diabetes, community diabetes, and perioperative diabetes care.
