Dr. Charlotte Boughton

Dr Charlotte Boughton is a Clinical Researcher and Honorary Consultant at the University of Cambridge / Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. Her research focuses on the use of automated insulin delivery (closed-loop) systems to improve outcomes for people with diabetes. She has led randomised controlled trials to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a fully closed-loop approach for people with type 2 diabetes. She also investigates the impact of hybrid closed-loop systems in children and adults with type 1 diabetes, and the role of ultra-rapid insulins to enhance performance. She is currently Chief Investigator of a trial of closed-loop for people with cystic fibrosis related diabetes.
