We are delighted to announce that after a considerable amount of work over several months, the audit tool for the FreeStyle Libre is now live and can be accessed by people who have registered for the audit at the following link:
http://freestyle.patientaudit.co.uk/
Many of you will have been collecting data on paper forms and you should now be able to enter the data from the forms onto the tool. Because there is considerable interest by paediatric centres in this audit, we are dividing all centres into adult or paediatric.
Once data has been entered, designated “moderators” from a centre will be able to download their own data for analysis. Naturally Trusts and CCG’s in the region may combine their downloads to increase the area of analysis, and moderators will need to get together to organise this is they wish to.
Those who have not registered so far for the audit may do so using the following link:
https://abcd.care/application-join-abcd-nationwide-freestyle-libre-audi…;
Those who have already registered for the audit will over the next week or 2 be contacted with information about how to log in.
One of the reasons for the delay in the creation of this tool was ensuring that it was GDPR compliant. To this end patients will be identified with the NHS number only, and this will be encrypted. Thus, users may find their own patients using the NHS number, or the encrypted version of it. The date of birth will be changed into age at FreeStyle Libre start, and the date of birth will not be stored. The name is not stored. For anonymised analysis in regions or nationally, only the encrypted number will identify the patient. Thank you for your contribution to this important venture.
Yours sincerely,
With best wishes on behalf of ABCD:
Prof Thozhukat Sathyapalan
Dr Emma Wilmot
