Diabetes Update 2025 - Information

Please note that you are expected to attend all sessions on each day of the programme and we cannot accept requests to attend part of the course only. 

Cost

The fee for the course is £330 per delegate for ABCD members and £500 for non-members, including refreshments and lunch on days one, two and three. The Conference Dinner with drinks on day one may be booked at additional cost (optional). Please note that drinks with lunch (apart from water, tea and coffee) are at your own expense. 

You will need to pay for your own travel expenses, accommodation, breakfast, dinner and any room extras at your hotel.

Accommodation

You will need to book and pay for your own accommodation for two nights - 29th & 30th January 2025. The closest accommodation is at the The Link Hotel and Burleigh Court Hotel, which are located a short walk from Holywell Park Conference Centre. Otherwise you can choose from a selection of hotels in the Loughborough area..

Dinner 

All delegates and faculty are invited to the Conference Dinner at the Burleigh Court Hotel on 29th January. The cost of the dinner is £40, including drinks. If you wish to attend the dinner, please ensure that you select the rate including dinner when you register for the course. Please note that places at the dinner are limited and are available on a first-come first-served basis. We will endeavour to cater for any dietary requirements that we are notified of prior to the course.

Venue

Holywell Park Conference Centre, Holywell Way, Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park, Loughborough, LE11 3GR. Please see the venue website and useful information about your stay for further information.

Travel

Located in Loughborough in the heart of England, the venue is one mile from Junction 23 on the M1, 7 miles from East Midlands Airport and 90 minutes from London St. Pancras. There is a substantial amount of complementary secure car parking next to the venue, with over 1000 spaces available for vehicles.

Loughborough Rail station is 3 miles from the venue and can be reached by cab in 10 minutes or shuttle bus in 20 minutes. You can buy a combined ticket that incorporates the bus journey to and from the railway station. Select the Loughborough University Bus (XLO) when booking on websites such as East Midlands Trains and The Trainline.

East Midlands Airport is located 7 miles from the venue, and a taxi from the airport costs approximately £15 and the journey takes less than 15 minutes. There is also a regular bus service that runs regularly from East Midlands Airport to Loughborough.

Meeting room location

All meeting rooms are located in the Holywell Park Conference Centre, except for the Conference Dinner, which will be held at the Burleigh Court Hotel on the University campus, a short walk from Holywell Park.

Accreditation

Accreditation for this meeting has been sought the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for  category 1 (external) CPD credits for full attendance.  Certificates of attendance will be available to download from your dashboard after the event. 

Safety and security

Please do not leave bags or equipment unattended and please wear your badge at all times. ABCD cannot be held responsible for personal belongings or effects.

Cancellation

Should you need to cancel your place at this meeting, please note that fees paid can only be refunded if we are able to fill your place, otherwise no refunds can be given. All refunds are subject to a £10 administration fee.
