The ABCD Consultant Leadership & Management Course (CLMC) is designed to provide SpRs and newly appointed consultants with the opportunity to explore the non-clinical aspects and challenges of being both a leader and a clinician. This Course is an interim programme replacing the ABCD Consultant Development Programme (CDP) for 2025, with a new, updated CDP set to launch in June 2026.
The CLMC is organised by the ABCD to enable clinician colleagues who are seeking appointment to, or who are newly appointed consultants, to complete a speciality-specific leadership & management course in 2025; the Course will run as a four-day residential programme from 10am on Monday 13th to 4pm on Thursday 16th October 2025 at the Novotel Birmingham Centre.
Geared to doctors in their final year of training and newly appointed consultants, this stimulating and experiential programme will prepare you well for the next transition in your career.
Who can attend?
Only ABCD members can be allocated places and places are limited to ensure a dynamic and interactive group. Membership fees for ABCD for SpR’s are now just £25 per year and membership also gives you discounted registration for other ABCD events. If the Course is over-subscribed we will give priority to those in their final year of training and those who are newly appointed consultants. If you are not already a member, Apply for ABCD membership today.
Course fees
The CDP course is underwritten by ABCD. The cost per head for the CLCM is over £2000 requiring a personal contribution of £800 including accommodation and meals (you will need to fund your own travel expenses). Payment by credit or debit card via Stripe will be required to confirm your place and a place will only be confirmed once your eligibility and ABCD membership have been verified.
