2026 ABCD Consultant Development Programme Alumni Conference

CDP Conference

We are delighted to launch the inaugural alumni conference for the Consultant Development Programme (CDP). The conference will take place on day five of the 2026 programme on Friday, 19th June. The event will celebrate the successful completion of this year's programme and bring delegates of CDP26 and alumni from previous courses together for a series of leadership presentations and networking opportunities.

It has always been an aspiration of the CDP that colleagues would be connected to alumni of earlier courses and we are pleased to invite alumni from all previous CDPs. Please note that the topics covered may be more relevant to those who graduated in the previous four years. 

Other colleagues from within the diabetes and endocrinology specialism who have attended alternative leadership courses (e.g. Kings Fund) are also encouraged to attend. The main objective is to allow colleagues from earlier courses to network with the latest cohort of graduates.

The Royal College of Physicians has been appointed as the faculty for the ABCD Consultant Development Programme (CDP) for 2026 onwards.     The Spine is located in Paddington Village at the heart of the Knowledge Quarter in Liverpool’s City Centre, with Lime Street Station a 19 minute walk away.

    There is car parking available at Paddington Village Multi-Storey Car Park (Elm Grove, Grove St, Smithdown Lane, Liverpool, L7 3FA)  where the standard day tariff is £12.00.

  • 2026 ABCD Consultant Development Programme Alumni Conference - Delegate Information

    Cost

    The personal contribution to attend the conference is £50 per person. This includes all meeting sessions on 19th June 2026 and lunch at the venue. The fee does not include personal travel expenses nor personal accommodation.

    The registration fee is refundable to those who attended the 2025 CDP course. This will be refunded following attendance at the event.

    Dinner and accommodation

    The conference is not residential. The personal contribution does not cover, therefore, the cost of accommodation or subsistence outside the working day. Lunch is provided, but breakfast and dinner are a personal responsibility.

    Please come to the training room to register and to collect your delegate badge between 09:30 and 10:00 on Friday, 19th June. 

    Safety and security

    Please do not leave bags or equipment unattended, and please wear your badge at all times. ABCD cannot be held responsible for personal belongings or effects.

    Cancellation

    Should you need to cancel your place at this meeting, please note that fees paid can only be refunded if we are able to fill your place with another delegate, otherwise no refunds can be given. All refunds are subject to a £10 administration fee.

  • CDP Course Event Terms and Conditions

    1. Delegate places on the CDP are limited and offered on a first-come, first served basis. Places cannot be guaranteed until payment has been received and ABCD membership has been verified.
    2. If the CDP is over-subscribed we will give priority to those in their final year of training and those who are newly appointed consultants.
    3. Only ABCD members can be allocated places.  If you are not already a member, apply for ABCD membership today.
    4. ABCD reserves the right to alter the programme without prior notice.
    5. In the event that a conference is cancelled or cannot take place for any reason outside the control of ABCD, the registration fees will be refunded in full. The total liability of ABCD shall be limited to that refund only, and it shall not be liable for any other loss, cost or expense, howsoever arising.
    6. Delegates are advised to take out appropriate travel insurance cover.
