ABCD Diabetes Update 2023 - Information
Please note that you are expected to attend all sessions on each day of the programme and we cannot accept requests to attend part of the course only.
Cost
The fee for the course is £250 per delegate for ABCD members and £400 for non-members, to include refreshments, lunch and dinner on day 1 and refreshments & lunch on days 2 & 3. Please note that drinks with lunch (apart from water) are at your own expense although drinks will be provided at the dinner. You will need to pay for your own travel expenses, accommodation, breakfast, dinner on day 2 and any room extras at your hotel.
Accomodation
You will need to book and pay for your own accommodation for two nights, 1st and 2nd February 2023. We have a block of rooms at The Link Hotel and Burleigh Court Hotel, which are both located a short walk from Holywell Park Conference Centre. Dinner
There will be a course dinner at the Link Hotel on 1st February, which should be considered part of the course with compulsory attendance. We will endeavour to cater for any dietary requirements that we are notified of prior to the course.
Venue

Travel
Located in Loughborough in the heart of England, the venue is one mile from Junction 23 on the M1, 7 miles from East Midlands Airport and 90 minutes from London St. Pancras. There is a substantial amount of free secure car parking next to the venue with over 1000 spaces available for vehicles.
Loughborough Rail station is 3 miles from the venue and can be reached by cab in 10 minutes or shuttle bus in 20 minutes. You can buy a combined ticket that incorporates the bus journey to and from the railway station. Just select Loughborough University Bus (XLO) when booking on websites such as East Midlands Trains and The Trainline.
East Midlands airport is located 7 miles from the venue and a taxi from the airport costs around £15 and takes less than 15 minutes. There is also a regular bus service that runs regularly from East Midlands Airport to Loughborough.
Hotel check in & out
Your room will be ready for check in from 15.00 on 1st February. Check out time is 10.00 on 3rd February – an additional charge may be incurred if you do not check out before this time. Please note that the concierge will be able to store your luggage once you have checked out of your room.

Accreditation
'Diabetes Update ' has been approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 17 category 1 (external) CPD credit(s).
Safety & security
Please do not leave bags or equipment unattended and please wear your badge at all times. ABCD cannot be held responsible for personal belongings or effects.
Whilst it is not compulsory to wear a mask during the event,you masy wish to do so while moving about the building in particular. There will be hand sanitiser stations available for your use on site as well as hand washing facilities. We do politely request that you do not attend if you are displaying any covid symptoms or have had a recent positive test result.
Cancellation
Should you need to cancel your place at this meeting, please note that fees paid can only be refunded if we are able to fill your place with another delegate, otherwise no refunds can be given. All refunds are subject to a £10 administration fee.
