Dr. Sagen Zac-Varghese
Sagen Zac-Varghese is a Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine specialising in diabetic kidney disease and metabolic bone disease. She is the Undergraduate Tutor at the East and North Herts NHS Trust.
She trained as a Walport Academic Specialist Registrar and was awarded a Wellcome Trust Imperial College PhD fellowship and NIHR clinical lectureship. She has a Master’s in education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority.
She is a member of the joint ABCD UKKA committee. She is a lead author of guidelines for lipid management in Diabetic Kidney Disease and a member of the writing group on other ABCD UKKA guidelines.
She is the current education advisor for the Royal College of Physicians Advisory Group on Nutrition, Weight and Health.
She is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor, UCL Medical School, Affiliated Assistant Professor, University of Cambridge, Honorary Lecturer, Imperial College London, and, a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire.
