Launch of the ABCD audit for the Omnipod insulin pump

ABCD is pleased to announce the launch of the ABCD International Omnipod audit and would like to invite you to take part. Following the successful FreeStyle Libre and closed loop audits, the principles remain the same.

We aim to collect data collected during routine clinical practice to gain real world insight into outcomes associated with the Omnipod patch pump technology to complement the findings from clinical research.  The audit is not confined to ABCD members, and indeed we invite all healthcare professional seeing patients using the Omnipod patch pump to join.

The audit is being launched in advance of the secure on-line clinical tool which will hold the data for analysis. It is being launched now, in advance of this, so that you can register your details and start collecting data on paper forms which will match the on-line tool exactly.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE ENTERING SOMEONE INTO THE AUDIT WHO HAS ALREADY STARTED ON OMNIPOD PLEASE FILL IN BOTH BASELINE AND FOLLOW UP FORMS THE FIRST TIME YOU COLLECT DATA - ONE FORM TO COLLECT DATA RELATING TO PRE OMNIPOD USE AND ONE TO COLLECT DATA RELATING TO THE TIME DURING OMNIPOD USE.

The on-line tool for the audit will have a very easy to use sophisticated data analysis tool making it quick and easy to analyse your own local audit data.  An ideal project for SpR, DSN or medical student if you do not have time yourself.  As usual, the anonymised data will also be available for national analysis.

The web page for the audit can accessed through:

ALL CONTRIBUTORS TO THE AUDIT WILL BE LISTED ON PUBLICATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS ETC – EXACTLY AS HAS OCCURRED IN OUR PREVOUS AUDITS.
