EXTOD 2020 Conference: Exercise and Nutrition in Type 1 Diabetes

EXTOD Conference Banner

Exercising for Type 1 Diabetes (EXTOD) have once again joined with the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD) to offer education focusing on type 1 diabetes and exercise.

This year to take into account the need for social distancing, we will deliver this education package as series of interactive early evening webinars and workshops.

The revised programme takes into account feedback from previous years. It also takes into account feedback from other online conferences suggesting full-day online events are better split to short ones. For these reasons, the conference will be split into 7 and broadcast in the early evening across two months.

  • Sessions 1-3 will be webinars which outline the principles and practice of managing type 1 diabetes for exercise and the use of emerging technology to support diabetes management.
  • Sessions 4-6 will be interactive workshops. Participants will be able to choose 3 out of 7 on a first come first served basis. These will include paediatric advice, advance dietary advice, closed loop and technology, and how to set up and run your own type 1 diabetes sports clinic.
  • Session 7 will be a selection of cases which an expert panel (which will include patients) can talk through.

The webinars will be recorded and made available for registered delagates to watch at anytime

All live sessions begin at 18:00 (GMT)
