Mrs. Sarah Alicea
Ms Sarah Alicea RD is a specialist dietitian with expertise at the intersection of diabetes and mental health. She co-leads a clinical service in London for people living with Type 1 Diabetes and Eating Disorders (T1DE) and is a doctoral student at the University of Warwick, where she is developing and validating a brief screening tool for disordered eating in diabetes. She has led the development of a national e-learning programme for T1DE, due for release in 2026.
Sarah is a member of the Diabetes UK Professional Conference organising committee and is a former Chair of the British Dietetic Association Diabetes Specialist Group (2023–2025). She is a named author on national guidance on diabetes and mental health for NHS England, NICE and the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
