Sankalpa completed basic medical degree (MBBS) from Nepal with scholarship for medical education. He did his core medical training in Northwest of England followed by higher specialist training programme from East of England Deanery acquiring MRCP (now FRCP), CCT in Diabetes & Endocrinology & General Internal Medicine. He achieved PhD degree from University of Cambridge.
At Norwich Medical School and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, he works at the crossroads of research and clinical practice, helping bring advanced technologies, such as insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring, and digital tools, into everyday care for people living with diabetes. He leads regional efforts to expand access to diabetes technology and supports major clinical studies that explore new ways to improve metabolic health. His work also extends to the Quadram Institute, where he contributes to experimental medicine projects on nutrition and the gut microbiome.
