Dr Anna Mitchell is a clinical endocrinologist working in Newcastle upon Tyne. During undergraduate and postgraduate training, she developed a keen interest in genetics, including undertaking a PhD investigating the genomic basis of the autoimmune endocrinopathies, Addison’s and Graves’ disease. Her clinical practice now encompasses all aspects of clinical endocrinology, with a particular focus on providing a regional service for individuals with inherited endocrine conditions and neuroendocrine tumours. She is passionate about improving patient safety, in particular for those people who are steroid-dependent. She remains active in clinical research.
