Dr. Mimi Chen

Mimi Chen is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George’s University of London. She gained a PhD from the University of Bristol for her research in the effect of bariatric surgery on type 2 diabetes and pancreatic function in patients with morbid obesity.
Dr Chen is the Care Group Lead for Diabetes & Endocrinology at St George’s and current member of Diabetes UK Clinical Champion Community. She is the Bariatric and Metabolic Service MDT Chair and Lead for Peri-operative Diabetes Optimisation Service. Dr Chen jointly established the first Cardio-Metabolic clinic in the UK to manage patients with complex cardiac metabolic diseases at St.George’s and support education in specialists to raise awareness in rigorous cardiovascular risk optimisations in patients with diabetes. She is an avid clinical researcher and principal investigators in clinical trials for diabetes and metabolic diseases.
