Joint ABCD & RA Meeting 2019 Information

Hospitality & registration desk
The ABCD registration and hospitality desk will be open in the Concourse Suites foyer from 08.30 on 13th February. Upon registration, you will receive your conference pack and badge. We request that you please wear your badge throughout the meeting. The conference organising team will be based at this desk throughout the conference should you have any queries.

We are inviting the submission of abstracts for posters on the subjects of diabetes and kidney disease.

  • Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to display their work in the form of a poster at the meeting, and those meeting the criteria for publication will be published on the ABCD, RA and BJD websites.

  • The top 3 abstracts will be published in full in the BJD (subject to meeting the criteria for publication), and will be invited to present their work in a short oral session at the meeting. Preference will be given to submissions from doctors in training and from allied healthcare professionals.

Submitted abstracts should be of no more than 250 words and the highest ranked will be selected to be presented as posters at the meeting.

This meeting has been approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 6 category 1 (external) CPD credits for full attendance, ref. 110199. Registers will be available to sign at the end of the meeting and certificates of attendance will be emailed after the event. Please note that if you do not sign the register we are NOT able to give you a certificate of attendance.

Cancellation and refunds
In the event of cancellation, delegate fees are only refundable until 16th January 2019. After this date no refunds will be issued. All refunds are subject to a £10 administration fee.

Your delegate fee includes tea and coffee at designated breaks and a buffet lunch. We will endeavour to cater for any dietary requirements that have been specified to us beforehand.

By Car:

  • Travelling on the M42, exit at Junction 6 and follow the signs to The NEC. Once on site, follow the signs for Gate 3.
  • Travelling South on the M6, exit at Junction 4 and follow signs to The NEC. Once on site, follow the signs for Gate 3.
  • Travelling North on the M6, exit at Junction 4, keeping to the left and following signs to The NEC. Once on site, follow the signs for Gate 3.

Car Parking:
The car park allocated to this event is North 2 car park.
When you arrive onto the NEC site, follow the electronic signs for the event and park in North 2 car park. From here walk to Atrium Entrance 2. Once you have accessed the atrium area follow the signs to The Concourse Suites 

By Train:
To travel by train to The NEC, your destination station is Birmingham International. Please check before setting out that your train stops at this station as some do not.
On arrival at Birmingham International, take the bridgelink from the station to The NEC following the signs. The escalator or lift at the end of the bridgelink will take you down to the main Piazza. Follow the signs for your event to the Concourse Suites, taking the Skywalk.

By Air:
A frequent SkyRail Transfer service runs between the Airport and Birmingham International Train Station. Follow the bridgelink and signs from the station to The NEC. The escalator or lift at the end of the bridgelink will take you down to the main Piazza. Follow the signs for your event to the Concourse Suites, taking the Skywalk.
