Professor David Russell-Jones

David Russell-Jones Qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’ in 1985. In 1998 he was appointed Professor of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Surrey and consultant physician at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.
His research interests include the use of stable isotopes to understand peptide hormone physiology. The Wolfson Foundation funded his mass spectrometry unit.
He also has been principal investigator on a number of international clinical trials. He is also head of the UK, Civil Aviation Authority programme to allow Pilots to fly on insulin.
Professor Russell-Jones in his spare time races sailing boats and has previously represented GB.
