Mrs. Jane Lawrence
London

Jane Lawrence spent her career as a teacher in London Primary schools. She was Headteacher of Sheen Mount Primary school in London SW14 for 16 years before her retirement in 2000. The early years of her retirement were spent in researching her own family history and in 2006, with permission from RDL’s son Dr. Adam Lawrence, she began writing RDL’s biography with Professor Robert Tattersall, (Editor) Dr. Alex Wright, the late Dr. Harry Keen, the late Dr. Peter Watkins and the late Professor Keith Taylor. In 2012, the biography was published by the Royal Society of Medicine. Since then, Jane has been doing presentations on the life of RDL to doctors, to branches of Diabetes UK, various local groups and schools.
