Dr. Alistair Lumb

Dr Lumb is a Consultant in Diabetes and Acute General Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He has been interested in the management of type 1 diabetes for sport and exercise throughout his career, working with athletes with type 1 diabetes in nationally recognised diabetes sports clinics as well as applying the same principles in the care all people with type 1 diabetes. He contributed to the development of the JDRF PEAK exercise guidelines published in January 2017. He is particularly interested in how technology can be helpful to support exercise in diabetes. Outside of work he is a keen (but untalented) cyclist.
