  • Professor Frank Joseph

    image of Professor Frank Joseph

    Frank Joseph is a Consultant Physician at the Countess of Chester Hospital and previously Divisional Medical Director for Urgent Care. Frank trained in Merseyside in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Internal Medicine.

    He was formerly the Future Hospital Officer at the Royal College of Physicians, London having been responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Future Hospital Program and the learning from the quality improvement undertaken as part of the program. He is now faculty for RCP-QI and led the northern cohort of the Inpatient Diabetes Collaborative.

    He is Chair of the West Cheshire diabetes network and is part of an award winning integrated diabetes service that was ranked outstanding in 2018. He was also previously Chair of the North West pre-gestational diabetes audit group.

    Frank is also Visiting Professor at the Institute for Integrated Health Sciences, University of Chester. He leads an active clinical research team and publishes on a regular basis. Current research interests include delivery of integrated care and education and their role in quality improvement to achieve the best patient outcomes and excellent patient satisfaction with person centred care.

  • Professor John Wilding

    Professor John Wilding leads clinical research into Obesity, Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Liverpool, where he has worked since 1996, after training in Southampton and London. His clinical interests focus on caring for people with diabetes and obesity and he leads specialist services for obesity at Aintree University Hospital – designated a Centre for Obesity Management by the European Association for the Study of Obesity.
    John’s research team focusses on developing and evaluating treatments for obesity and diabetes. He has published over 350 papers, chapters and review articles, including clinical trials in diabetes and obesity, studies of adipocyte biology and metabolism.
    He chairs the National Clinical Research Network Metabolic and Endocrine Speciality Group.
    He is a past Chair of the UK Association for the Study of Obesity, a member of the Royal College of Physicians Advisory Group on Nutrition, Weight and Health and past President of the World Obesity Federation.
