Professor Alan Sinclair
Alan is Director of the Foundation for Diabetes Research in Older People, Diabetes Frail based at the Clinical Trials Unit, Medici Medical Practice in Luton, Bedfordshire.
Alan co-led the 2014 IDF Global Guidance for Management of Older People with Type 2 Diabetes and led the recent International Guidance on the Management of Frailty in Diabetes. Alan is also the lead for the Older Peoples Diabetes Network which he jointly established in 2012 with NHS Diabetes. Alan founded the Institute of Diabetes for Older People (IDOP) in 2008 which he has now replaced with Diabetes Frail Ltd whose primary focus is research in older people with diabetes.

The Association of British Clinical Diabetologists is the national organisation of Consultant Physicians in Britain who specialise in Diabetes Mellitus. Most are also Acute General Physicians, and many are also Specialists in Endocrinology and Lipid Metabolism.
