Spring 2017 - Information

ABCD HOSPITALITY & REGISTRATION DESK

The ABCD registration desk will be located in the Andrews Gallery (2nd floor), and there will also be a Hospitality desk stationed in the 5th floor foyer.

Upon registration, you will receive your conference pack and badge. We request that you please wear your badge throughout the meeting. The conference organising team will be based at these desks throughout the conference should you have any queries.

 

ABSTRACTS

Members and non-members the Association are invited to submit an abstract of no more than 250 words, for the Spring Meeting .  Abstracts should be for a poster on any subject which might be of interest to members of the Association - diabetes, endocrinology or general medicine. All accepted abstracts will be published on the ABCD  and BJD websites. Please submit your abstract via the web page HERE.

Closing date for submission of abstracts is midday on Wednesday 21st February 2017.

 

ACCOMMODATION

You will need to make your own accommodation booking should you require it.

ACCREDITATION

Accreditation for this meeting has been approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 6 category 1 (external) CPD credits for full attendance (ref: 110200).  Registers will be available to sign at the end of the meeting and certificates of attendance will be emailed after the event. Please note that if you do not sign the register we are NOT able to give you a certificate of attendance.

 

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

In the event of cancellation, delegate fees are only refundable until 10th April 2017. After this date no refunds will be issued. All refunds are subject to a £10 administration fee.

 

CATERING

Your delegate fee includes tea and coffee at designated breaks and a buffet lunch. We will endeavour to cater for any dietary requirements that have been specified to us beforehand.

TRAVEL

By Foot
Titanic Belfast is only 2.4km (1.5 miles) away from Belfast City Centre; a pleasant 25-30 minute walk.

By Car
Vehicles approaching Belfast on the M1 or M2 should follow the signs to Belfast City Airport M3, taking the first exit for Titanic Quarter. There are 520 secure, underground paid parking spaces available. Parking charges are £1.50 for the first hour and £1 per hour thereafter. The underground car park has a maximum height of 2.1 metres. For high sided vehicles there are several pay and display above ground car parks available nearby on Queen’s Road.

By Train
Translink operate regular train services from Belfast City Centre and beyond. For up-to-date information on timetables please see www.translink.co.uk. Please disembark at Titanic Quarter Station for Titanic Belfast.
From here there is pedestrian access via a footbridge, please then follow signage to Titanic Belfast. Walking time is approx. 15 mins from station.

By Bus
Translink operate Metro Services 26, 26A, 26B, 26C from Belfast City Centre - departing outside the Belfast Welcome Centre to Titanic Belfast. While the Airport Express 600, 600A, 600B services Belfast City Centre, Titanic Belfast and George Best Belfast City Airport. View timetables here for latest information.

By Air
George Best Belfast City Airport is a short 5-10 minute drive from Titanic Belfast, with regular bus links and taxis available at the airport. For full details please see www.belfastcityairport.com. A taxi from Belfast City Airport to the titanic Centre will cost in the region of £9.00 each way.

Belfast International Airport is a 30 minute drive from Titanic Belfast, with a regular bus service running to Belfast City Centre - Airport Express 300/300A. Onward travel to Titanic Belfast is via bus routes detailed above. Taxi and car hire services are also available at Belfast International Airport, for full details please see www.belfastairport.com.

By Bicycle
Cycling around Titanic Quarter is safe and enjoyable and Titanic Belfast has several bike parking areas available to the public free of charge. One can be found on the plaza outside the main building, with two more in the underground car park levels -1 and -2. The Belfast Bikes Scheme operates throughout Belfast City Centre and docking stations can be found at the Odyssey Pavillion and beside Titanic Belfast.

By Ferry
Titanic Belfast is easily accessible by sea with ferry crossings from both Scotland and England. Travel by state of the art superfast ferries with journey times from just 2 hours 15 minutes. Operators and travel times vary and Titanic Belfast has a close relationship with Stena Line and P&O Irish Sea who have daily crossings.
